Tarmac and Asphalt

Tarmac and Asphalt is a method of paving in which layers of evenly graded course aggregate are spread and compacted to a desired grade.

The top layer is normally sealed using tar which is heated before being laid. Tar can withstand the weather well and has more friction (ideal for road surfaces) and can be both hand and machine laid.

Tarmac and asphalt generally comes in just two colour options, red and black
