Tar and Chip

Layers of bitumen emulsion and stone chips are laid as a "surface dressing". This may be laid over a granular sub-base or may be applied on top of an existing firm but worn bituminous or asphalt surface to improve the surface or add text and grip.

Chipping's range from 6mm / 10mm / 14mm and come in a variety of colours including buff, granite and limestone.

Tar and chip provides a durable surface and the finished colour will depend largely on the colour of the stone "chips" used.
